Gastronomy has always been part of Chef Filipe Carvalho's life, born in Aveiro. He studied at the Hotel Management School in Coimbra, and it was in the Young Gastronomy Talent competition in 2006 that he met Chef António Bóia. Throughout his career, he worked at renowned restaurants like Rios, Altis Belém, Fortaleza do Guincho, and Vila Joya. After a while in Barcelona at Martín Berasategui's Lasarte, Filipe Carvalho was invited to open Berasategui's first restaurant in Lisbon, Fifty Seconds, which was awarded its first Michelin star a year after opening under Chef Filipe Carvalho's leadership. In 2020, he received the "Chef de L'Avenir" award from the International Academy of Gastronomy.

In 2024, Filipe Carvalho joins the JNcQUOI team, the gastronomic project of the Amorim Luxury group, as Executive Chef of JNcQUOI House, the brand's first boutique hotel. In this new project, Filipe Carvalho's mission is to open two new restaurants and the JNcQUOI Kiosk.
