Louis Anjos, a native of Minde (Alcanena), began his career when he entered the Fátima Hotel School, where he graduated from the cooking course in June 2000. He began his professional career as a first-class cook in various restaurants in the Leiria region.
In 2008, Louis Anjos decided to change his career path and applied to work in hotels in the south of the country, joining the renowned Vila Vita Park resort. This was followed by the prestigious 5-star Vila Lara resort.
In April 2011 he started a new project at the 5-star Suites Alba Resort, owned by Luís Figo, as Executive Chef, where he remained until mid-2015.
His CV includes winning the 23rd edition of the Chef of the Year competition in 2012.
To deepen his knowledge, Louis did internships at the prestigious “Viajante” restaurant (with a Michelin star) in London and at the “Martin Bersategui” restaurant (with three Michelin stars) in San Sebastian, in the north of Spain.
In 2016 and 2017, he headed the kitchen at the Macdonald Monchique Resort & Spa hotel, where he won the Revelation Restaurant in the “Boa Cama, Boa Mesa” guide and Bacalhau winner in the restaurant category.
From 2018 to October 2020 he was head chef at Restaurante Bon Bon, in Carvoeiro (Lagoa), a Michelin-starred restaurant since 2015, where he presented several menus inspired by traditional recipes and using endogenous products from the regions where he works.
Since November 2020 Louis Anjos has been executive chef and F.B Manager of the 5-star Palmares Ocean Living & Golf Resort. The AL SUD restaurant, located in the Palmares Clubhouse, After six months of work, Louis Anjos and his team won a Michelin Star, from scratch, being the restaurant with the shortest time in existence that received this distinction the fastest. It has kept the star to this day.
Louis Anjos is passionate about Portuguese cuisine and the quality and freshness of its products, characteristics that are present in all his gastronomic creations.
