João Marques de Almeida holds a PhD in International Relations and Political Science from the London School of Economics. He has been working for 18 years on European, geopolitical and geoeconomics issues outside Portugal. He spent seven years at the European Commission, in Brussels, as an advisor to the President of the European Commission, Durão Barroso. In 2013 he started working at a consulting and business intelligence company in London whose clients are global multinationals and investment funds. He is a regular commentator on national and international policy issues on “Observador”.
